Carrot-Daikon Weight loss Tea

So I started drinking this "Carrot-Daikon weight loss tea" from the kind life diet, it only took me a few weeks to find all the ingredients. lol. No for real, finding umboshi plums was no small feat. I did eventually find them at T&T supermarkets in the refrigerated section with all the Japanese food. Since I was not about to pay $36 from Amazon.com! Yikes. Anyway I am on day 5 and feeling pretty good, I will keep you posted on whether it works or not.
P.S. If you are going to try it I recomend getting a food prossesor or a magic bullet because the tea tasted awful to me before I blended it up!

Dinner Number 2

Description: toasted open face sandwich on sourdough rye bread with grilled eggplant, fresh spinach, tomatoes, fresh basil, mozzarella and parmesean cheese. Side of steamed asparagus with balsamic reduction.
This was quite delicious

Healthy Dinner Number 1

Description: quinoa with toasted pinenuts and fresh basil, garlic broccolini with parmesean cheese and avocado, artichoke, and sprout salad with sesame tahini dressing! YUM

Like A Virgin

Well this is my very first blog post......I am not sure what to write...so let me just tell you a little bit about my story. I decided like most of you after the holidays (i.e. Christmas/all of last year) that I wanted to try and change my eating habits and start cooking healthier better food! In February me, my sister and a friend from work decided to take on the 3 week challenge of doing "Joshi's Holistic Detox", needless to say we did the best we could but the diet was quite strict and none of us made it the whole way without cheating a bit! lol. I thought after the detox was over that I would have changed more of my eating habits...but besides switching from regular milk to soy milk and trying new kinds of pasta, like brown rice, kamut and spelt. My eating habits remained the same. Then I picked up a book on a health diet consisting of eating mostly raw food as eating raw food allows your body to use the enzymes in the food to break them down instead of using your own stored enzymes, allowing your body to use more energy to do more important things....this is all very interesting but I can’t eat nuts and raw veggies all the time. I have also been trying recipes from Alicia Silverstone's book "The Kind Diet", which is a very cool book but I am not ready to commit to veganism just yet. I was raised a vegetarian and at 16 I decided that there just wasn’t enough to eat, so I began eating chicken and fish, and I am not ready to give them up just yet. So I guess I am trying to find a balance between eating healthy and loving the food I eat. I am also going to try to cut out as much dairy as I can! I loveee cheese so this might be a very big challenge. Anyways I will post some recipes and photos of some of my latest concoctions soon!
